Homeskoolin’ Bonus “So Ya’ Wanna Be A Session Man?”

Chapters
00:00 - Session piano player
05:39 - Back with the band

Notes
Dear Homeskoolers, meet Jason Webb, cherished member of the Nashville session community, and one of the most amazing keyboard players i have seen in my entire life.

Just for a little mind blowing context, in this section of the song we were working on, the chart just said “5 bars of 5 chord”….

some folks would see and naturally, they would just hold a 5 chord for 5 bars…and then certain OTHER folks can envision/create/perform something like this… on the fly…and actually get it on tape

I would say this is a pretty good example of the old phrase “there’s probably something more you could potentially be doing…”

…and the end of this video shows Dann Huff, Tommy Sims and Chris McHugh in the heat of battle

I feel honored and lucky to be able to work with musicians of this caliber almost every day

Session update from one of the finest REAL recording studios in the world

The Sound in Nashville TN

I made a comment today on a break after hearing Chris McHugh’s God-like drum sounds in the headphones “well, you’re sure as hell not gonna get THAT drum sound in some home studio”

And yes friends…home studios are fun and all, but when you work in a place that was DESIGNED to be a major recording studio, you can CERTAINLY hear the difference

there is no way around it
