https://www.youtube.com/@gordonmote7366/videos

A clip from a session we did today with Vince Gill at Vince’s studio in Nashville...

I thought you guys might learn a lot from seeing Gordon play some beautifully understated shit on an actual track in a large ensemble, instead of the usual effortless mind boggling feats of solo piano showbiz you guys are used to witnessing him do.

Dig the otherworldly touch…dig the ancient pocket.

This is once in a lifetime shit here friends.

There are literally only a few people left on this entire planet who can play LEGIT traditional old school country and western piano in it's purest form and successfully conjure the ghosts of Pigg Robbins and Floyd Cramer, and TWO of those people are on this very same session...Gordon and John Jarvis.

Believe me, we all clearly realize how spoiled we are....it's like having Jim Brown and Walter Payton in the same backfield....fun stuff kids

Homeskoolin’ Bonus “Food For Thought”

Chapters
00:00 - Piano playing of strange chord progression

Notes
We have all heard this song a million times….it was a huge hit record. One of Sting’s most genius moments in his absolutely amazing career.

“Don’t Stand So Close To Me” by the Po-lice….

But have you ever noticed how fucking weird the chord changes are???

The end of the chorus literally jumps from an Ab major to a cold D maj that starts the verse

Verse is Dmaj to F# min which is pretty normal….then the chorus jumps to C
#maj to G#maj….. But then BACK TO D??

Its easy to be “weird”….but real genius is being able to do something totally weird and totally unique that sounds completely normal…and is a hit record

Homeskoolin’ Studio Update, “The Amazing Dawgs”

Chapters
00:00 - Session playing

Notes
The crude early stages of trying to fashion some weird random thoughts into some sort of song with Ann Wilson and her band “The Amazing Dawgs” …

Ok, first off, who came up with that name?? and even more amazing is the fact that we all agreed to it…

Tony the bass player has been seriously considering getting the words “Amazing Dawg” tattooed on his arm….but there have been a few threats that the band name might get changed at some point…i personally kinda like it because its just so unbelievably dumb.

I want to sincerely thank all of you guys for watching the channel and for all the kind donations…99.8 percent of you people are absolute sweethearts…
