Homeskoolin’ Bonus Jam “King Of The Flat Tops”

Chapters
00:00 - Play that guitar, player

Notes
Good evening dear friends...
since the dawn of country and western music, there is only one guitar that ever earned the title “king of the flat tops” undisputedly.

the Gibson J-200….

any acoustic player knows that these gargantuan jumbos are VERY hit and miss…(mostly miss in my personal experience)

sadly, they rarely ever sound as cool as they look….BUT, when you luck out and find a special one, they can take ya' for a ride that no other acoustic can match

Thanks for watching Homeskoolers

editor's note:
Creeky this might be a good one for you to create a tempo map on, so you can add your Night Court bass sounds and Alesis HR-16 drum sounds...oh, and your muddy high gain slightly out of tune PRS overdubs

well ok Homeskoolers, i would like you to meet a few more of my friends.

Today's video starring:
Beau Carter
Graham Whitford
Ben
Tammy

I mentioned in the MCV video that I had a day off today…hahaaa.

I literally forgot that I did a quick overdub session this afternoon at my beloved old house that I owned years ago….

as i mentioned before to you guys, i should have never gotten rid of that studio...

#liferegrets

but... I am thrilled that my dear friend Mills Logan still has it and we can work there anytime we want…

so many memories in that room friends...i can't even begin to tell ya'

that’s the little home studio I told you guys about a while back where Brad Paisley made a lot of his earlier records. it was also the place where the Alison Krauss track “Whiskey Lullaby” was recorded.
i remember back in those days Zac Childs was Brad's guitar tech and he was always out there in my little garage.

I remember getting ready to go to work on an ordinary day, and I would open the door to the garage studio and someone like James Burton would just be standing there…
i never knew who would be out there at any given moment...fun times.

that session today was just a little pop country thing ….easy breezy…i worked for an LA based producer I had never met before called David Kershenbaum…very sweet fella

The folks in the studio with me were Mills Logan (amazing engineer) , Rowan Stewart (amazing drummer for Cliffs) and the studio assistant Riley

today’s amplified signal is coming from my beloved old Roland jazz chorus 120…if you have never owned or tried one of these legendary amps you are making a serious mistake

they are, in a word, magic
