Homeskoolin’ Bonus “The Haunted Switch”

00:00 - '62 Gibson stereo output with varitone
04:17 - Varitone shades of unusable tones.
06:00 - Pull the cord out a bit to get mono neck pickup / Popping switch
Notes
I have been asked MANY MANY times about my thoughts regarding the stereo Gibson models of the late 50’s/early 60’s…the ES-345 and ES-355…people always wonder how they sound next to a typical golden era mono ES-335 that we all love, because the stereo guitars are usually a bit more affordable.
My dear friend Drew from Guitar House of Tulsa came by for a visit last night and brought along a couple of really nice ES-355’s, including this EXTREMELY tidy 62 with a LOVELY neck in fantastic condition…which also has a haunted switch.
So of course I used this opportunity to show you Homeskoolers a very handy demonstration of the extremely vast chasm of sound difference between an old stereo Gibson and an old mono Gibson.
Yeah, that’s right…I’m always thinking of you guys….
Anyway, hope you don’t mind the phone falling over a few times, but this video should tell ya everything you need to know about the differences in the sounds between mono and stereo old Gibsons.
editor's note..at :32 i meant to say "mono 335", not "mono 355"

Homeskoolin’ Volume 374, Tom Bukovac, “The Song Remains Strikingly Similar”

00:00 - '63 Gibson ES-335 on the workbench
Notes
Uncle Larry does a bit of a deep dive on one of the most brilliantly designed guitars ever conceived by “mankind”…the Gibson ES-335 semi-hollowbody electric
To really understand the word “mankind” we must first break it down into two smaller words….
“mank” and “ind”
Birthed in 1958, a full decade before the author/director of this video, the es-335 (aka “the 335”) took the music world by storm with it’s exceptional tone, playability and versatility.
Special thanks to a particularly clever Homeskooler for today’s video title…I believe the fellas name was Chester…
nice one mate….i sometimes wish I was smart and funny enough to think of something that hilarious …I guess I’ll keep trying
Speaking of 335s, you may remember a cherry late 65 335 with bigsby holes that I sold on this channel several months back…it used to belong to my dear old friend Bubba….
Anyway, the guy that I sold it to recently contacted me saying that he wants to sell it ….
I think it’s 10k
If you want his email just ask and I’ll send it…all I ask is that you only do that if you are very serious about potentially buying it
It’s a good guitar
Also if anyone out there has a clean original case for my 63 that’s in this video please let me know …it would be black with yellow insides in 1963
I would pay handsomely if anyone has one that doesn’t smell like cat piss and mold
Over and out Homeskoolers

…if truer words have ever been spoken I’d sure as hell like to hear them…
Stay strong friends…a lot of this shit is actually not our fault.
not to sound TOO cliche….but like I always tell my boys….you just gotta zoom out and try to get some perspective about where your own personal problems fall inside the BIG picture of real problems….
and you GOTTA TRY to focus on the positive
