it has been well proven in the past on this channel that you guys simply do not give a FUCK about any type of old school country swing guitar, no matter how difficult, involved, or challenging it may be, but i am still doing it anyway... cuz i like it.
if i was going for likes and views i would just play tenths using only 6min, 4, 1, and 5 chords and sing "uh...uh...uh...." over it, because i know thats what you guys REALLY want

Homeskoolin’ Bonus , “Silver Spoon”
Chapters00:00 - Day job in a session/producing
Notes
Session log:
9/18/24
Nashville TN
I thought you guys might like to watch the way a song develops over several takes…
from a project your Uncle Larry is producing on a gal from St. Louis named Jaime French.
aside from being an amazing singer, Jaime is well known in YouTube land for being a comedian…she is actually about to embark on her own comedy tour, and she’s making this record to help support it.
Her and her husband Nick are here in town for a few days while we worked on 4 songs over the last two days at one of my very favorite studios in this town….the Smoakstack in Berry Hill.
Yes that’s the same place where we did all the Ann Wilson stuff back in the day…in fact we had three of the original Amazing Dawgs assembled on today’s session.
Jaime and I put together a pretty swingin little crew for these sessions…
Zack Zinck engineering (you know how Larry ALWAYS says that the engineer is the most important guy in the band…and our boy Zack is VERY VERY good at his job…)
Stix Mchugh on the drums
Tony T Bone Lucido on the electric bass
Sweet Davey Cohen on the piano and synthesizers
Paul Moak on guitar and synth
Dearest Samuel was our invaluable session assistant (also known as the SECOND)
the assistant engineer is the SECOND most important guy in the band)
A good assistant can absolutely make or break a whole session friends…this is a fact
Anyway, crack yourself a beer and take a little ride down creation road…it’s a good song and she’s a damn good singer. Hope you enjoy watching “the process”
I swear friends, even after all these years I am still mystified by how it all works…as I have said many times before , the power of collaboration is my favorite thing in all of music

Homeskoolin’ Bonus “White Funk Railroad”
Chapters00:00 - Doing that funky playing with a loop
Notes
You can bust some shit up real good with just two chords…music is mostly about rhythm.
The rhythm and the phrasing of the notes gets noticed by the human ear more than the actual notes themselves get noticed
In this example it’s just the 1 to the 4 back and forth in the key of C
If you get bored by just two chords, keep in mind that this groove actually has one more chord than “chain of fools” by ‘Retha does

Uncle Larry covers some events of the day and brings back a painful memory that still haunts Clevelanders to this day....can you imagine living with the fact that YOU are the guy who is associated with an event known by any sports fan in America simply as "The Fumble"....
Even Scott Norwood feels sorry for the poor guy....
The truth is that Earnest Byner's career game that day was the only reason that his team was even in the position of potentially winning that game in the first place...but nobody remembers that part.
...and dig this backline friends…damn...

Notes
Well friends, the first thing old Larry did after he finally got all his beat up old gear into the new Homeskoolin World Headquarters studio was put together a new work bench that he ordered off the Amazon…
God…I am absolutely TERRIBLE at putting together unassembled furniture and shit like that….but i l finally got it.
It’s nice to have a place to work on my shitty old guitars again.
they are all a mess since my whole life has been completely uprooted….but that’s all about to change .
I just strung up and set up my trusty old 58 burst so I have at least one guitar that is feeling real good….cuz tomorrow it’s right back into the session fire…working with a very picky producer with high expectations.
The move is basically finally over praise the Sweet Baby Jesus….it’s time to start playing guitar again and thinking about music instead of where that coffee table is gonna go…
Thanks for hangin with me dear Homeskoolers

Uncle Larry does a bit of guitarcheology on the eve of America’s birthday…
Just throwing up a Hail Mary here that someone out there might happen to recognize the young fella in the black and white photo holding what I affectionately refer to as the “Mailbox Letter Burst” (serial number 8 6785)
This video also shows Larry Lee, the fella who I believe might be the original owner of my 58 Gibson EMS-1235, (the 50’s doublenecks oddly did not have serial numbers)…and Darrell Ellis, the fella that might be the original owner of my 57 Les Paul Standard Goldtop (serial number 7 3293)
Happy 4th my dear friends…and like I say every year, don’t blow your fingers off ferchrissakes
