Homeskoolin’ Bonus “Theory's Ways”

00:00 - Interesting passage
Notes
I originally titled this "Progathon" but a Homeskooler named Gb Seventy3 pointed out that "Theory's Ways" is clearly what it SHOULD be called...thanks for that my friend.
See, you guys think I’m a “prog freak”…but here’s the thing you don’t understand. The ONLY prog i was ever into was just these three bands…Genesis, Yes and Jethro Tull….the rest of it i honestly couldn’t care less about.
Of course I respect all the others (like ELP, King Crimson, Gentle Giant etc etc etc) but i was never into it.
Here’s a little thing i wrote a loooong time ago…I’ve had the A and B sections of this tune floating around in my head since i was in my early 30’s (i remember writing it in some hotel room on the road in the 90’s)…i just added the C section on today so i could tart it out for you guys.
It doesn’t look all that hard, but it’s EXTREMELY difficult to play….a lesson in itself of letting strings ring clearly whilst fretting other notes…. In fact if anyone out there can pull this off convincingly note for note i JUST MIGHT even send then a nice comfy Homeskoolin t shirt on the house haha
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel friends…oh and fuck off Axel

00:00 - Rockin' the P-90s
03:50 - '55 Gibson Les Paul TV Junior
Notes
Hello friends….just thought you guys might get a late nite kick outta the tone genarated by this gnarly old P-90 that has recently floated across my transom (hello Janine).
I truly wish this beat up old gig warrior from a distant world could talk….i wonder what this student model golden era Gibson has witnessed in it’s life….
i tried to ask it, but it just stared at me, mocking me with it’s stately limed mahogany countenance.
To be continued….

Homeskoolin’ Bonus “My Clone Sleeps Alone”

00:00 - Play through of a clone of a Fender Tweed Deluxe.
Notes
After original Fender Tweed Deluxes reached 8-10k i finally decided to give up hunting one and have my buddy Mike Scaggs make me this killer clone. He did a wonderful job and the amp sounds amazing…you can clearly hear in this clip how bad ass this thing sounds. If any of you guys out there are hunting a cool hand built amp at an EXTREMELY reasonable price look no further. I have known this guy for almost 30 years and he is about as trustworthy of a person as you will ever meet on this planet. Check out old Scank and his amps at www.p2pamps.com

Not a SINGLE ONE of you out there realized that there were TWO volume 128’s of the Homeskoolin series…. even more proof that Larry needs a secretary…..secret-a-larry
Thank you guys for the kind words and kind donations….you guys really know how to make a gal feel welcome and loved.

Homeskoolin’ Sunday Night Bonus Jam, “Lead Leopard

00:00 - Def Leppard - "Bringin' On the Heartbreak"
Notes
Ya’ know friends, they don’t write ‘em like they used to…takin you back to 1981 with another Mutt Lange creation that stands the test of time.
I have always heard that the AMAZING backing vocals on this track were all actually performed by Mutt himself (uncredited on the album liner notes of course)….
I’m not on the instagram…but i wanted to tell you guys that you should check out what Dean Deleo is doing on there recently. He has been putting up videos where he goes through the Trip The Witch record track by track and shows you some of the instruments he used and some of the parts he played on the record.
Basically a much higher quality much more tasteful and professional version of what I did a few weeks back when i had the C19….and i went through the tracks blabbering on about how hungover i was.
Thanks for watching the show kids

06:10 - Whizz Kid transition lesson
06:31 - Whizz Kid half step lesson
06:43 - Ebow lesson
Notes
Let me learn ya’ a little tune my dear Homeskoolers...."Whizz Kid" by Mott The Hoople...written by Ian Hunter...1973...man i love this record. Everything about it....the drum sounds, the attitude, the lyrics, the harmonic richness....its all there.
This will probably get taken down for copyright infringement, but its ok if it does...all im trying to do here is illustrate what a work of genius this is.
Little whizz kid mystified me
She was a New York City beat
She came on flash, monster mash
Motors in her feet
Now we moved out from Manhattan
To her home on the Brooklyn Heights
Her dad's a street punk and her mum's a drunk
But we made out alright
Far far from home, oh I felt so alone
Could not spin to the speed of the city
Oh send me my ticket, I'm too scared to stick
With my little whizz kid - such a pity
Now she really tried her hardest
Just to make me leave the band
She even hired a toy "rent-a-boy"
Straight from a Times Square stand
Oh thank you little whizz kid
But me and my friends gotta eat
So get back to school or the typing pool
Just get yourself out on the street
Send you victorious, happy and glorious
You got the stardust, the sawdust, and the smile
Don't lose your sting, how I'd hate you to swing
Oh my little whizz kid, you got such a style
She's a cute super sleeper
She don't dive in deeper
A natural leaper, she don't let people pass
Watch out for the auto-mite
Quick or she's outta sight
Oh my whizz kid, you know you're such a gas
Such a gas
