A rare dissertation from your Uncle Larry about the ups and downs of life in the mild distortion lane.

Disclaimer…this video is intended for amusement only…i COMPLETELY understand that any gear comparison demo done with an iphone microphone is a ridiculous waste of time….no user serviceable parts inside….if swallowed, get medical help immediately or contact a poison control center…objects in the rear view may be larger than they appear.

Unrelated….just WAIT until you guys see how cool the two new Plexi Soul shirts are that our resident genius Ryan Conover designed….Ryan is responsible for all the previous HS t shirt designs (except the very first one which was designed by my dear friend Eric Crilli)….i think you guys are gonna dig it the most

Homeskoolin’ Bonus…”Jeddy Unitas”

Chapters
00:00 - Acoustic playing by Jedd Hughes

Notes
Just when i thought this magical Sunday where i went 4-0 on NFL bets couldn’t get any better, just imagine my joy when the pride of Quorn, Jedd Hughes, showed up my door at midnight last night….i told him he could crash here at my crib for the week while he is in town making a record.

I have been waiting patiently to hear him extract magic tone from the '38 bone like only he can, and i promptly put it in his hands within the first five minutes he was here.

You may have guessed, your crazy uncle is an avid football and baseball card collector since the age of 8….

This little vignette shows four of my heroes…Nitschke and Unitas from the lovely red and blue bordered '71 Topps football set (one of my personal alltime favorite sets)…a '73 Topps Dick Butkus "action card"….and some other guy holding a guitar.

Thanks for supporting the channel lads…and thank you for the continuing positivity regarding the Plexi Soul record.

Homeskoolin’ Update…PLEASE read the video description below!

Chapters
00:00 - Mini pedalboard build

Bandcamp links:
https://tombukovac.bandcamp.com/album/plexi-soul
https://tombukovac.bandcamp.com/album/plexi-soul-homeskoolin-edition

Notes
As soon as i know the link to the bandcamp website where the album will be posted for sale, i will pin it on the comments for this video.

Dearest Nathan from Duesenberg proposed a brilliant idea. In an effort to include EVERYONE….we are gonna do it this way. Everyone who buys both copies of the record will automatically be entered into a drawing that will most likely happen on Christmas morning….the winner will receive a new Duesenberg Session Man guitar.

I want this to be a two part contest type deal…I'm thinking part one is the drawing where EVERYONE who buys both versions of the record can win….part two will be for all the players out there…where we will give away an Ebo Customs amp to whoever wins the playing portion.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND!!!!
This is all still being put together and nothing is carved in stone here. I will present all the final details about the contest situation as soon as they are officially cemented I swear.

I want to sincerely thank my dear friends at XTS pedalboards here in Nashville for throwing this killer little fly board together for me on VERY short notice…these guys are the absolute greatest and i appreciate them so much.

Stay tuned for the link to my silly record guys…thank you SO MUCH for your continued support of the channel.

I can’t express how much i cherish the heartfelt comments many of you have sent about how i have helped so many of you get through covid with these lessons…it means the world to me and i hope you all know that.

Rock on brothers

Homeskoolin’ Hump Day Bonus “I’m In The Mood For A Heiny”

Chapters
00:00 - Beautiful, soulful playing

Notes
Well, guys….after ALL the love i have given to my trusted brand for years, not a single soul from Latrobe has reached out to help your sad old uncle…no calls, no letters, no emails…crickets….

now, he is SERIOUSLY considering switching to another green bottle…the same one your old Uncle Eddie enjoyed….

Taking you back to 1983 here with one of the greatest guitar solos ever recorded in my humble opinion….Robbie Blunt’s brilliant contribution to the Robert Plant song called “In The Mood”….which also featured some fine drumming by another English bloke that your uncle holds dear to his heart…..

The super sparkly high end on the '60 Strat i bought at an estate sale is being provided by the Vertex Ultra Phonix Special Overdrive pedal that dear Mason was kind enough to send me....delay is Vahlbruch Space Time that Vahlbruch was kind enough to send me....reverb was a Boss RV-6 i bought at a music store going out of business sale...amp is a dead clean '65 Vibrolux Reverb with the factory Jensen 10's that you DEFINITELY want in your old Vibrolux that i bought off the craigslist.

Record is coming Friday folks on the website Bandcamp….Ill post a link as soon as i know it.

Notes
Hello class…in today's presentation…a walk through the chords of the Trip The Witch song “Dressed To Kill Myself”.

Also , a couple videos of my dear old friend Guthrie Trapp absolutely destroying my ‘38 OOO-18 and my ‘37 AJ.

Also, the lovely ‘65 Gibson 335 in the video is available in this episode of Uncle Larry’s garage sale. This guitar is ABSOLUTELY ready to be someone’s main squeeze….beautiful refret and it plays like absolute butter, dead in tune. Nice fuckin guitar in the original case. Has some Bigsby holes and original tuners reinstalled after some others were on it…best part about this guitar is it has the “tweener” nut width…it’s not the classic wide pre ‘65 1 11/16” nut width, but it’s not that super skinny late 60’s feel either…its a “tweener”

Notes
Hello class!!! Its your weird old uncle….tonites lesson teaches you how to play "Space Wagon" from the Trip The Witch record that came out recently. This track is probably my personal fave on the album, although its a bit of a wall flower at first glance.

Today was day one of a four day Morgan Wallen record at Blackbird studios in Nashville….its nice to be able to camp out for a few days and get weird…bring out the weird toys.

I’m actually totally serious about eventually making the move to all combo amps….the big head/cabinet scenario has served me well for many years, but I always like to keep evolving and trying new things.

Thanks so much for the kind words about the TTW album, Dean and I really appreciate it.
