Notes
Uncle Larry gives the class a tour of the amps that powered the youth of America in the 80’s….the legendary vertical input JCM-800, and the JMP 2204 50 watt…

I KNOW that for many of you out there, this was the amp that was in the trunk of your high mileage late 70’s GM vehicles when you got your first blow jobs after a gig.

and totally unrelated , I know you’ve already seen it, but go back and watch the original 2004 Friday Night Lights movie by Peter Berg….

I watched it with the boys last night ….so gripping , so powerful…UNBELIEVABLE acting performances by Billy Bob and Tim McGraw…
just an incredible movie…and the soundtrack by Explosions In The Sky is soooooo fucking good…and when “just got paid” by ZZ comes on it’s just the perfect marriage between film and music

What a fuckin movie holy shit

03:51 - Inside the amp
05:44 - Getting it ready
08:25 - Playing the amp

Notes
there was a time in American history when men rode Harley’s and played loud rude country music…and soulful rhythm and blues music…and rowdy rockin’ blues music for scantily clad nasty ho's that were built like brick shit houses in smoky sweaty bars across this great land….

and this was the amp that they used…

and when the gig was over they pushed the driver seat of their 2 door 1975 Pontiac Grand Prix forward and threw the thing in the back seat while it was still hot …and then they went back inside and bought an eight ball off the bartender so they could stay up all night banging some stripper in their mobile home…

and this was the amp that they used….

and they didn’t have to “go direct” or put “baffles” in front of the amp…and they didn’t have “expression pedals” for their “modeling device”…and if they DID have a pedal , it said “MXR” on it in big block letters …and it ran on a 9 volt …and it sounded fuckin great …

and this is the amp that they used…
