Chapters00:00 - Theramin fun
01:10 - Thank you EHX and pedals
02:48 - Best invention yet
03:00 - In a session
Notes
Uncle Larry wanted to make this video as a sincere heartfelt thank you to Mike Matthews and Kevin Jolly at Electro-Harmonix.
My love affair with EHX pedals is well documented…i have said many times before that in the end, there is really no arguing the fact that since the early 70’s EHX has absolutely dominated the pedal industry much the same way D’Addario has dominated the string industry
without a doubt the most innovative, the most ground-breaking, and the most copied company in the vast totally over-saturated cosmos of pedals.
I fondly remember about 25 years ago I bought a large lifelong collection of about 150 super rare vintage EHX pedals from a recording engineer friend of mine named Steve Bishir …all the rarest coolest old shit …stuff you NEVER see…there was even a rack mount EHX delay in that stash that I have never seen before or since …great gear, not always the most well made or reliable, but ALWAYS amazing sounding.
After that we have an old video of a much younger thinner me that I found in the archives from January of 2023 of a recording session at Vince Gill’s studio.
Working on a track called “Pink Cadillac” that actually just got released about 3 months ago (sometimes this shit takes a while friends hahaa).
You can hear the sounds of Vince, Jedd Hughes, Paul Franklin and engineer Justin Niebank in the background….always a blast to work with those guys , those sessions are always SO MUCH fun.
Vince knows how to throw a damn good party.
The guitar I am using is a beautiful 1961 Gretsch 6120 that Vince actually ended up gifting to me about a year ago because he’s a sweetheart and because he remembered how much I loved that guitar
That boy is truly one of a kind friends
Here’s the finished version of that song for ya
• Vince Gill - Pink Cadillac (Official Audio)
I hope you do indeed enjoy this little hodge podge of stuff today my dear Homeskoolers

Uncle Larry kicks off today’s progrum with the lost new wave song from 1981…that he just made up 5 minutes before he rolled the camera
After a quick google I found the book…it was actually called “The New Music”…
Wow, what a distant memory…but it had a big effect on me as a kid
and TOTALLY unrelated, I somehow happened upon this old video last night , a rare rehearsal version of Nathaniel Rateliff singing an old Leon Russell tune beautifully…this was for some tribute concert we did years ago.
This version is way cooler than the “actual” version that ended up on the YouTube ..I love his voice on this

Here’s some long form bench content for the TRUE Homeskoolers out there…this is basically the Homeskoolin’ equivalent of reading “War And Peace”…
Maybe save this one for the next time you get a cold and you’ve got a few days to just lay around on the couch and watch 10 movies in a row
What you’ll see and hear if you DO stick around ….
You’ll see Larry changing out the original bridge on a lovely old 58 LP Junior, and you’ll get to hear that guitar play TRULY in tune for the first time in its life…after 68 years of faithful rock and roll service on this glorious planet
and… you’ll take an extensive tour through 3 very strident lovely sounding original pickups on a 1957 Stratocaster …and you’ll get to hear them played right next to the original pickups on a 65 LPB Stratocaster through the same amp
Hope you enjoy friends
